It was a karaoke Friday night at Chevron for me. Together with the usual main cast, Wanyi, Thomas, Dom and Wei Jian, we sang our hearts (Along with some saliva and huge servings of our lungs.) out.

5 people, 2+ hours and 3 dollars each. WTF!?

Jianwei sings?

Yep and horribly I'd confess. Especially when I do female songs.

I just couldn't hit the notes, and what makes the entire experience more intolerable was that I tried to. LOL.

But I do okay for guy songs! Really!

Stop cringling up your face like that. It'll give you wrinkles.

Anyway self ridicule aside, I came to realise that karaoke ain't as therapeutic as I thought it would be. From time to time, a song will be sung that holds some profound and usually saddening meaning to someone.

Wanyi and Thomas were certainly one of those "someones", evident with their pain etched into their faces as songs that struck more than just a sad chord rolled on by. Even the happy-go-lucky Dom wasn't spared from the ruthless flashbacks.

Wei Jian on the other hand held the facade of a peaceful lake. If there was any turbulence beneath the calm exterior, one would never find out.

Don't you just hate it when a certain song invokes certain emotions and drags out some certain memories that you thought you've buried it away (For good we'd hope.).

The song 假装 did just that to me. It was as much a heartwarming as well as a heart wrenching moment for me to reminiscence about my past.

She was there at my POP (Passing Out Parade lar Einstein.).

Her silly antics.

Our first Valentines Day dinner.

Amazingly I couldn't remember her for any single bit of our less-than-happy times together. Self denial at its best I'd reckon.

Get out of my head will you?
