Just back from sending Rebecca home. She came over and watched When Harry Met Sally with me and my sis. I've watched like how many times? 4, 5, 6? Numbers seem to elude me on this topic. All that matters anyway was it was good! The show has illustrated a possible while every bit as predictable outcome. They live happily ever after. Sheesh. But how true is that relative to life?
The movie actually got me thinking. Is it possible for people with the slightest chance of developing mutual/single sided attraction to be just good friends?
Two people of the opposite gender(Or same gender depending on one's sexual orientation >.<) meet and subsequently became friends. For those who clique, they proceed to hanging out, chilling, catching movies etc. Everything friends do.
While at it, they start talking and telling stuff about themselves, their dreams, their problems. It is only a matter of time that the bond between them starts to strengthen till the point they're practically telepathic.
They complete each others' sentences, understand and laugh(hopefully) at all their jokes otherwise deemed lame by everyone else and even order for one another at a meal.
Do they like each other? Such a question most probably pops into either/both their minds when a romantic situation occurs. And voila. Their friendship has been tainted with love.
Once that happens, everything starts to go downhill from then on.
They find it hard to be humorous around one another anymore. Topics seem to be on short supply while conversing, often leaving both ends of the phone in awkward silence. Eventually both of them will lose the very reason/reasons they like one another.
All of the above constitutes to the eventual drifting and breakup that follows, bringing them back to square one - strangers. All that is left will be the heart wrenching regrets that they should have remained as friends.
All of the above was derived by part from the movie and part from my life.
I still like to have a close female friend though ^^.
I guess its best to let that lie and focus on shallower yet nonetheless more important issues, like what to have for lunch tomorrow ^^.
You've come to the end on yet another mindless rambling. Good night and sweet dreams!

Fences are actually built to protect the animals from eating trash. I mean people. ^^

Smoking saves the need for insecticide.
